ich reappearing in hypo

I'm now wishing I'd saved all the "ich" literature I've seen and read on crypto. There are strains of the protist that have been found in cold water, in warm water, and in varying salinities. So much information is left out of the discussion. If you truly want to have an "ich"-free aquarium, your tank(s)/ QT/ fish room need to be treated as a sterile laboratory. Keep the display tank fishless to ensure the primary hosts are no longer feeding the parasite. QT your fish with copper and never add anything to the display tank without proper quarantine. Otherwise, you are rolling the dice.

I couldn't agree more, and the ''rolling the dice" is a perfect analogy. So many hobbyists (I was one, too) are convinced they can beat the odds. But; sooner or later, the house wins. The percentage of new threads on this section of the forum that deal with problems that could have been prevented by the steps you mention must be well over 50%. (IMO, a low estimate.)

I have a blue tank that was still having problems after 3 weeks in 1ppm Cu. I think it was actually a secondary infection and the tang is better in a separate tank with Hypo. I thought it was velvet with rapid breathing but so far everything has survived which is atypical.

Something is out there and hospitalizing a large number of large fish for months is annoying. I will look for white worms. Anything in particular I should be worried about?

I'd start your own thread with as much info as possible; its very confusing dealing with more than one tank at a time. Especially for us old f****.

Blue tang is looking better but yellow tang now has something on his eye...most likely flukes. Is it possible the spots/bumps on the blue were flukes all along? Also wrasse now has wragged looking fins. Water parameters are good. Ordered pinpoint fluid, culpramine, prazi-pro, copper test kit and a broad spectrum antibiotic yesterday should be here tomorrow wondering which I should try first

My meds and calibration fluid came today. I tested refactomer and its spot on...any suggestions what to do next?

Raise your salinity, treat w/Cupramine for 1 month. Wait 1 more month after treatment ends. If you still don't see any Ich by then you're good to go IMO.

I added prazipro last night and plan to add anti bacterial med (triple sulfa) in a week or so. If I do not see improvement I will treat with copper. I just hope to have this all cleared up by the time my new tank arrives. It should be here in 6-8 weeks.
