Well I woke up this morning and my solo clown looks to be covered in white particles. I lost his mate last week to the same thing. One day it looks good when the lights go out, and when they come on he is covered. Im not doing anything to the tank to create a difference in conditions. It looks like Ich, Ive tried Melafix and Pimafix. What can I do?

This is not the fix, but I give mine garlick food flakes, they do help reinforce the immune system for me. One of my damsels was speckled each morning, over month now and things cleared todate.

Stress will make them more vulnerable, perhaps loss of his mate.

Also added Cleaner Shrimp .

Best is to take care of the problem as remove all fish with proper meds in quarantine tank, have the reef tank fish free minimum 4 months as parasite dies without a host. Likely the sure fix.

If you did not treat the problem, you still have the problem. Visible symptoms are meaningless as they do not always show.
