Ich

All of my tangs have been quarantined for a month. Then thrown in my tank
Now today. All 3 have spots.
Any ideas how to fix. I have no way to get them out.

With the big temperature swing the past few weeks and up coming weeks, try to keep your temps stable. Bust out that good ole heater

Start soaking your food in garlic and some sort of vitamin supplement for the fish. I use brightwell aquatics multivitamin. Get their immune systems beefed up. Depending on if you have coral, you could also drop your salinity as well. Keep your temp stable with no more than a 1-2 degree swing during the night. I've used Ich Attach and the fish keeper stuff in my main tank with corals and didn't have any problems. But that is just my opinion and my experience. Good luck!!

Sounds good. Thank you guys.
Sorry about being so frantic. I quarantine so this doesn't happen.

Laws of nature. What could go wrong. Will.

My tank is completely packed with corals and rock. So removal would be a horrible task.

Look this is what you do, make sure to use this exact green seaweed w/ garlic extract already in it.. it worked for me every single time flawlessly. Rubber band it to a rock & don't clip to the glass. IMO they like it better this way.. I'm guessing you have a high salinity? Btw avoid the liquid garlic extract as it doesnt help at all IMO, it smells like crap, I stick with the easiest cleanest way that works. Also higher salt levels above 1.023 are more of a chance of getting ick. Mine is 1.022-1.023

could be a factor mine 1.026

Some stuff I have read suggests that Ich may already be in your display tank. The thought is that a normal healthy fish does NOT succumb to the effects. When adding new fish they can be stressed, lowering their immune system and allowing Ich to take hold.

I had a situation recently where I added a Yellow Tang to my 110 where there was already a Tomini Tang and a Scopas Tang. The Yellow Tang was quarantined for 4 weeks and doing very well. After adding him to my display tank, there was a bit of tussling for rank among the tangs. The Tomini tang got really stressed and came down with Ich. The other two tangs and the rest of the fish were fine (I had the Tomini for 6 months). No way to catch the Tomini until he was too far gone. Freshwater dip cleared up the Ich but he was too far gone and died two days later.

I have heard that adding Fish Keeper and garlic before adding the new fish may help support their immune systems during the introduction phase.

IF you lower from 1.026 to 1.022 it should be done over a long period of time. This lowering may have adverse effects on others in the tank, especially corals. I know most LFS run around 1.015 to1.020 as it helps reduce ich and other parasites, but this temporary until they are adopted.

As for garlic, they say it is a good appetite stimulate, but is NOT a cure for ich!
The only proven "cure" for ich is hypo salinity or copper Tx, all else is snake oil IMO/IME!

When I get new fish, while in QT, I feed them 10x more times than I do the DT fish. When they get paroled from QT to DT, I will still feed way heavy for a good week until they get settled in and have found their place. Of course heavy feeding comes with more water maintenance and water changes, but this is what has worked well for me.

Above everything else, a non-stressed fish is a happy/healthy fish and food helps they stay busy and happy!

If you cannot get them back out and into a hospital tank for a good 180 day Tx and QT, then you'll have to ride it out and hope for the best.

Best of luck to you!

I have plenty of corals, sps, lps, sun coral, sponge, macros, that do fine in that range (1.023). Pretty much anything does well. I would start off with the seaweed for a day or two, then do a water change to gradually lower the salinity. It truly doesn't need to be high anyways.

so im an idiot. not ich at all. my chevron tang learned how to remove the algae from the vegi clip and takes it to the back of the tank. then starts a feeding frenzie with the other 2 tangs which kicks up sand and they get covered in it. I have sugar fine so it looks like ich on them.

watched it happen last night

Ha!
You are not the only idiot... I get what I now call Sand Ich maybe once a week and it gets me every time.
