Ick is a killer!

This is a story that im sure some know all to well, I bought a Powder blue tang (ICK Magnets) turns out that is so true. Within 2 days he had ICK all over, so i began to treat it as anybody would do. Well that didn't work out so well he ended up dying a day or two later, then all of a sudden my pair of maroon clowns ended up with ICK and it killed them a day later(Today).:sad2: After about 6 hours of denial that the clowns were really dead, I've finally came to terms with it. Now on to my question how do I go about killing of the ICK and getting my tank back to normal before I add any fish. It's a fowlr tank, so far my livestock consists of some snails. Thanks

If you don't have any fish in your tank now you should just leave it fish free for at least 6 weeks... You will read many things that say 4 weeks, but I can tell you from experience it it better to wait an extra couple weeks just to be safe!.... I know it is hard to be that patient but it is worth it... Then from here on out be sure you quarantine all new fish for at least 2 weeks before adding them to your tank so you can monitor them and make sure they are parasite free and healthy.... You should still continue to preform regular water changes on your tank even while there are no fish in it, and be sure you add a little food every couple days so you don't loose any of your good bacteria....
