It may be a stupid question but I am having a hard time figuring out which my yellow tangs have. They are both in QT atm and are being treeted for ick because that is what I had on hand. I am offering enriched formula pellets with immune buffers for internal and external parasites.
The reason I ask is because I was told I would need something else to treat them if it turned out to be ick and I was also told to watch their eyes for a sheen to form. One of them (the smaller one) looks to have gone to the eye doctor recently, his pupils look dilated but I don't know if that is how he was when he came in or not, i just didn't notice.
Overall they seem to be very lively moving around, sometimes bickering, and eating like pigs. I also wanted to note that I also had a four line come in with the same shipment and it died within 3 days of what I believe to be ick, it set on overnight and covered the fish pretty good. I started treatment immediately but it was too late. Sucks, was a beautiful fish.:sad1:
*edit*
I was reading back over this and couldn't find where I had put the symptoms... anyways, at the peak of the infection there where raised white spots scattered pretty evenly around the fish's body and fins. There is no longer any on the fins that I can see however it was also gone from the fins when the four line died (also, the four line wasn't eating yet which may have been a contributing factor). I have not noticed any scratching or anything else that seems out of the norm.
