ID Help... Hydroid? Anemone?

Hello,

I've got a few of these popping up in a variety of places across my tank. I did a dive through the ID websites that I know and the only things I found that seemed to look something like it were hydroids or anenomes.

Does anyone know for sure what this is, and if its a leave it alone or a remove it kind of thing? So far, they are mostly nestled in holes in the rocks but a couple have popped up on the tops of the rocks.

They seem to open or close, and I've included a picture of them both open and closed.

I did fiddle with my lighting until I could get as clear a picture as I could, it was difficult when it was open.

Thank you!

Thank you!

That looks exactly like what it is. Looks like they aren't a nuisance, based on an article by melevs reef.

That's a ball anemone for sure. It's actually not a true anemone, but a mushroom! I've got a few of them, last night I injected one with aiptasia x to see if it would kill it. It's ****ed and curled up as of this morning but still there.

The jury is out wether they are good or bad, but I'm not a huge fan of them.
