ID Help - Nassarius or Whelki

Bought these as reef safe Nassarius but I am not sure if they are reef safe or the problematic Whelk?

Babylonia sp. Basicly samething as a whelk I believe.

Yes, Babylonia. They generally scavenge but can kill their own prey. They are obligate meat eaters.

Would they bother a clam? I don't have one now but plan on it down the road.

They might bother a clam. If they were hungry, and the clam couldn't get away, it might be a tempting morsel. If they wanted to kill the clam they could.
