i got these today from a local reefer.

i know this is a leather but what type is it?

It's hard to tell for sure, since both corals are cloased in the photos. However, the first one looks like it might be a Cladiella, and the second may be a Nepthea or a Capnella.

where should they be placed are they fine on the sand? i have a 24g aquapod with the current usa orbit 2x 40w pc

Mine are over 6 years old....I have not prop alot,,,maybe only 5-6 times in the years I have had them..
