ID on hermits

Sorry the pictures aren't that great, not the easiest thing to get photos of.

They don't get any bigger than blue leg hermits, actually they are smaller. They don't crawl around on the rock, just stay on the substrate. When they want to they can move VERY fast. Their legs are much longer than scarlet or blue legged hermits. Their mostly white but at their joins its a pinkish color.

Ok, these should be better...

The dime in the picture will give you an idea on size, this is the biggest one I have. Oh...and the boss...aka girlfriend....wasn't thrilled when she saw what I had in one of her glasses...HAHAHAH.

These are probably Pagurus longicarpus. This is a medium size species and can be somewhat aggressive.

Do you know of any write ups on their aggressiveness?

No, being temperate animals, they aren't usually kept in reef tanks.

I never really understood the reason to keep "termperate" animals out of a reef tank.

I guess its time to see what I can find on google
