Can anyone tell me what this might be and the treatment?

Double saddle butterfly is in QT and has these spots on them. I first used Prazipro for a week and did not seam to do anything. I then treated with formalin dips along with in tank treatment for 2 weeks. Some have fallen off and fish looks better but still have some spots.

Fish is eating well.

Fish acts normal no flashing, no shaking, eats good. The parasite seams to turn a yellowish color just before dropping off. Some are larger than others. I assume they are older, adult parasites.

After looking at it again I would say it is breathing heavy. Opening mouth rapidly and gills moving fast. Fish does not go to top of water like it is trying to get air though

Can you see the gills of the fish from the rear as it's breathing? Anything abnormal like red and swollen, or more of those white specks?

Yes it is, but you can sit there and watch if it is of any importance. Might have to take it as far as to catch the fish and look in the gills. There are many things than can affect the gills of fish. You might see it swim away from you and catch what looks like an inflamed very red gill. Trying to come up with suggestions from NW Iowa, not like we can be there in person to try and help the situation.
