ID Please and how to fix it?

Hey everyone,
My Yellow Longnose Butterfly has come down with some sort of fungal infection. It has also caused his appetite to go to almost zero. If you guys could ID this and tell me how to fix it that'd be greatly appreciated! He's also the first fish in my tank. He was QT'ed for 5 weeks, went through two rounds of prazi, and 2 transfers of TTM. I know there's supposed to be 4 transfers, but the mccoskers wrasse he was with in the bucket died and I panicked and threw him in the DT. He never showed signs of Ich.

The place I'm worried about is the little string coming out of his head, on the right side when he's looking at the camera. It seems to be annoying him.

I was going to say looks like flukes to me.But if it's gone through praziquantel treatment already .... Then I looked closer to the second picture , the little hollow circles behind the eye and the hanging " string" could very well indicate hexamita , it would also explain why it has no appetite .
Metronidazole would be your choice Meds for hexamita.

My best guess from these pictures....

It's not flukes.

Can you use metro in a display? And does hexamita require a fallow period if you can't use it in the display?

I've treated for hexamita only when I used to work at a pet store who did all their own imports and I usually closed off a a valve to isolate a tank and treat in there for both fresh and saltwater fish. I've never had to treat it at home.

I personally wouldn't put Meds in a salt display tank ...except maybe prazi.
I know flagellates protozoan do go through and encystment phase so logically a fallow in a Dt would be a good idea. I'm just unsure on how long that would need to be.
I found info on the length of a life cycle of other flagellates like giardia and such that affect dogs and humans. Unfortunately haven't found this info for hexamita.
One thing for sure is to reduce nitrates and increase oxygen.

Maybe one of the mods or pros will chime in ....I've also read about the use of quinine sulfate for external hexamita but I'm not familiar with that product.

How long does the fallow period have to be? What would you think is a safe estimate?
