ID please?

I was told when i bought this as a frag it was a Blue Hawaiian Nausta but since it has grown out i am not so sure. Please verifiy for me. Thanks

Impossible to give a good guess because it's so fuzzy. Can you take a pic with the polyps retracted?

Acropora nasuta gets some long PE, but not that much. So I would say it is not A. nasuta. And it definitely should not have originated from Hawaii, legally.

I would have to stress it to get the PE down some.
I got it from my LFS.. The owner called me specifically for it.
He told me he got it from the west coast somwhere as he travels alot
and i am the only one in my area with any SPS. I will get a better pic tonight and post. At first glance what do you think it may be?

A fuzzy Acro would be all I can say for now. With the PE covering the corallites, and outline of the skeleton it's like trying to figure out who Cousin It looks like.

We have an A. abrotanoides in our display that looks very similar to that. I'll take a look and see if I have a recent picture.

Your Acropora abrotanoides gets that fuzzy? Or do you mean A. abrolhosensis? I would lean more towards A. abrolhosensis, but there is still no way to be certain with out seeing the shape and pattern of the corallites, and even then it will just be a closer guess.

Millie doesn't get this fuzzy as far as i know. And also grows different. (more sleak).

This one almost grows like a monti digitana.

I am thinking it is not A. millepora as well, but I don't think it is a Montipora species. I can see two axial corallites at least so it is a Acropora species. It's just too fuzzy to guess which one tho.
