It's a candy cane coral being slime up due to stress (?)

Sometimes I have these brownish mini tubular worms that reside next to my candy cane and other corals releasing the slime in the water columm to fish for food then they pull the stringy slime now trapped wih food back in to their mouth. It looks similar to the pic above. But I see you have several slimy strings around that candy cane.

It's always the cats!! Candy cane looks back to fighting shape this evening.. now that we've solved the mystery...
