These are showing up all over one of my tanks. Have no clue what it is.

Sorry couldn't get a better shot.

Do they look like they are made of cotton? I had 100's of those. They won't hurt anything they are filter feeders. I'll see if I can find a pic of mine.

That is strange.
If it's not a duster, sponge or tunicate of some type I guess it could be a coral it almost looks like a bleached out snake polyp in a way. Is it in a dark place in the tank?

there is a type of snail that makes those kind of hard tubes and spits out a web of mucous that catches food and the snail then reels it in, I have one that hitchhiked on a coral that I bought, weird little guy...

Probably a vermetid snail or something similar. Harmless filter feeder.

Nope all are on top or sides of rocks in full light.

just watch that they don't spread to any of your clams they eat the clams mantle and irritate it til it will eventually die. The clam that is. That is how I lost mine a couple of years ago.

Then I'll just mark the clam off the future wish list.

BTW as I hijack my own thread LOL what do you feed your Sun Polyps?

Don't know if you were asking me or Mary. I feed my Suns mysis mixed with cyclop-eeze or blender mush when I'm lazy.

Ahh thank you Amy. Did you see the pics I took of the suns at the Sydney aquarium? That tank of theirs was just covered with them.

Cyclop-eeze, oyster eggs, mysis, and some new stuff that I got a sample of called poylp something. Can't remember what it was called and it is in the freezer and I am to tired to go check.

I got a sample of the Reefroids I'm gonna try on it as well as Cyclop-eeze. Hope it likes the Reefroids cause it's a LOT cheaper!
