Ive had this one for a few months now and it has grown ALOT but has not split or anything ... color is pale and semi-transparent (dont know if thats good or not for this one) ...
It is a green Florida Ric. According to some literature I read a while back some of the green varietys are deep water. They are usually found solitary instead of in colonies and grow fairly large for a Ricordea. No reason was given outside of speculation for this type of growth other than an adaptation to depth and light level if I remember correctly.
I have three fl rics, light purple and two different orange that are nearly 3 inches across. The purple is slowly splitting about an inch worth into a new ricordea. I have had one that was 4.5 inches across. It was an orange and green with some purple tips but it finally... Split in two.
