Looks like a carpet anemone to me....

Off topic-but what do you do for emergency management? I have a job similar somewhat and was just curious

I am the Deputy Director over here in Ashtabula County...

Carpet anemone...hmmm...well this is a VERY bad picture but what about this one...same you think...just for size...it is about 2 foot wide (1/3 of a 125 tank) I was thinking somekind of big Toadstool??? I will be talking with the owner of the tank tonight...can find out for sure then :D

Ah no kidding? One of my co-workers interviewed for that position a couple months back....You just started correct? I work for a company called ERTS in chagrin falls...

yeah...about 3 months ago...retired from the Navy back in December 06...took 7 months off (could have taken the rest of my life off! really liked being retired! except for the pay cut!) then started here...

yep...heard of ERTS...are you instructing?

nah...I'm a project manager...I am a young pup still (26 years old..lol). If you think about it....you were in the navy longer than I have been alive....lol....sorry but I had to take a friendly jab.

It is funny however to run into people doing the same kind of work though. It is a pretty small sandbox really.

Asides from hijacking the thread...

I am still pretty stuck on the fact that it looks like a carpet still..

My first reaction was that it was a HUGE carpet anemone...but there is too much other stuff underneath it that looks in good shape...I couldn't imagine a carpet that was probably 3' in diameter when laying flat...I think it would destroy everthing underneath it...

and no...I am not THAT old! you were probably 18 months old when I went in! :D still pooping your pants for sure! if you are from Burton originally and played HS sports...I am sure you played again on youngest nephew...he is also 26...

BTW...the second picture is a shot of Solo99's tank that he has advertised in this forum...I told him I would take it last night at his asking price...just trying to ID some of the critters...I will be in Columbus the next two days and hopefully will stop by his house on the way home and take a look at the tank in person and pay him...then comes the chore of moving the tank and critters from Ashland to Orwell...

I agree with kreeger, it is a large toadstool leather, a green variation at that. Gladerman you may know my GF's father. He is an EMA director for Richland County, you know him (Jim)?

Bcollins...If I don't...I probably will tomorrow...will be at the Ohio EMA Directors conference in Columbus the next couple of days...Jim most likely will be there...

I'm telling ya...that's a BIG toadstool!!!

Ive never seen one that big and thats why I thought it had to be an anemone....they must be dosing growth hormones into the water..lol..

they are hard to find when they are that size. I have only seen one larger and that was at a LFS in Columbus called Byerlies when they were in business. Thing was HUGE. But I like the one posted in this thread better due to the green.

Bummer...I'm sort of depressed tonight...was a little mix up in buyers for the tank and critters...was looking forward to that big Toadstool! Oh well, no blood, no foul...just wasn't meant to be...hopefully the guy that got the tank enjoys it! :D
