Hoping this is the correct forum to post this. Ran across this little guy this weekend on a rock that has been in the tank for 5 mo. First I noticed him. He's about 3/8" across, small, and can fully retract. I've looked online and see a club tipped anemone that is quite similar. Any expert opinions out there?

that looks right

that looks right

googled ball anemone and came up with an ID; Corynactis or Pseudocorynactis and some info in Advanced Aquarist's Online Magazine. now we'll see if it's a good witch or a bad witch.

Thanks

I've had those in my tanks for 3+ years. I think they're kinda cool. They don't seem to reach plague numbers at all. I also don't think they're photosynthetic because I have some in the darkest places. They also seem to reproduce, though I don't really know.
