ID wanted

I posted this in the "Other Invertebrate's Forum". Maybe someone on here can ID it. I looks kind of clam like, maybe a filter feeder of some type.

I'm hardly an expert... and most likely I'll be wrong... But to me it looks kind of like a blue coral.

I had something just like that as a hitchhiker on a colony one time. It does close if you aggravate it, correct?

I just touched it with the end of a net and it closed up.

I've had a few of them only mine were not as disc shaped and were more ovular. Mine also have a foot that they stick into the rock they are on to anchor themselves down. Yanked one out cos it had a Green button Polyp on it and didn't realize it was a clam of some kind. Placed it back on a rock and since then it is like triple the size of when I yanked it.

I'm gonna stick my finger in it as soon as it's big enough just to see how hard they clamp....lol
