Because the Regal Angel in my main tank has suddenly decided to look upon my Favias, Acanths, etc. as his own private buffet, I've decided to 'upgrade' my 40g breeder into a dedicated LPS tank. Right now it is lit by a dual 96W PC strip but I'm thinking of going with T5s for this application. Bad idea? Good idea? And if 'good', any particular wattage recommendations? Thanks in advance.

t5s would be great. I would get 4 with individual reflectors. To get the most color out of your corals, I would try 1 aquablue, 2blue plus, and 1 pure actinic.

Go with T-5's, you won't regret it. Like mentioned above, definitely try to get individual reflectors. If it is out of the budget, then it is out of the budget. Go with at least 4x39w, and if you can 4x54w.

T5's would work great, but honestly, your dual 96-watt PC's will do fine as well for lps. You have more bulb options with the T5 though.
