i was wondering if any of you have any ideas thatll help me. i have a bunch of live rock coming my way thats uncured. any ideas for a holding tank for my basement?
worked for me. Throw a couple of powerheads in there for circulation, and some shop lights over the top and you are good to go. Home depot has a 4ft shop light for about $15 and you can get daylight bulbs there for about $5 a piece. Do weekly water changes, and personally, I have found that adding phytoplankton helps the cure go quicker.
actually i should elaborate about the live rock thing, i had 10lbs coming from a freind but when i went to get i noticed he had more. according to the bathroom scale it was 60 lbs. anyway his brother is from trinidad and sends him live rock all the time so hes got more than he wants. i foolishly told him id take all he had and all he could get me. i hope to cure and resell it but i fear i should have kept my mouth shut.

How big? I have an old home made counter-current skimmer I used for a while It needs a pump and it runs on air stones. You can have it for free if you've got space. Its 4ft tall.
If not check out the selling forum here on RC. I picked up a used G4X for $300 shipped.
luck indeed, im going this feb. im mailing boxes of it home. i guess its all fair game except for protected reefs. but ill be a good boy and only take loose rocks. im gonna need a ton for my winter tank project.
