Well, I just got my first house, and I have already designated the one room to be a "fish room" because there is a sink and what-not already there, and besides, if my tank will fit into the closet of that room, I'll also be able to cut a hole in the wall in the living room and have an in wall tank....

Anyway, here's the deal... The tank is a 120g with 2 mega over flows.. it is drilled on the BOTTOM of the tank, meaning the "floor" pane of glass.

I would like to be able to get rid of the mega over flows cause I quite frankly find them ugly, they take up too much room. I am wanting to do a rock wall scaping and such and would like to have the room that the boxes are taking up.

Is there any other way to utilize these bottom drilled holes without using the mega overflows? Or should I just drill new holes on the back and go with some calfos style "coast to coast" over-flow? it takes up way less room in the tank.

What do you guys think?

I would trade that tank for one that is not drilled Im sure someone will take that trade I would any day instead of ruining the overflows ...if you do hack them out I would gladly buy them or trade for them if you dont want them

I will keep you in mind, hehe. I am thinking I am most likely going to be plugging the holes in the bottom and just drilling new ones on the back. The tank isn't in the best shape, some scratches, and the back panel glass on the one edge has a chip out of it. Nothing major, but not a "show room piece" if ya know what I mean. It's my first tank and honestly it's good enough for me. but I would just like to get rid of those ugly boxes...

Also, if anyone is really good at doing some custom aqua scaping, when I move and am ready to set something up, I would be more than happy to provide beer and food for some scaping help. I have some ideas of what I want, but it's going to take zip tie work and probably acrylic rods.

If I can get a good scape, and have a decent sand bed. I may just keep the overflows in there. But I would much rather not.
