I am not sure what's growing on my Live Rock, it started out as one, and now is multiplying very quickly. I like how it looks, but can it hurt my current tank tenants?

WOW thats the most aptaysia i have ever seen!!! BAD BAD BAD!!!

Get some aptasia stop!

pic is a bit blurry, so I'm not sure what you want us to see. If its the purple stuff, it looks like coraline algae - good stuff. if its spongy and fluffy looking, it could be cyanobacteria - bad stuff. From the color, however, it looks more like the former to me. If you're referring to something besides the purple stuff we'll need some clarification.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the aiptasia outbreak on the right side of the pic.

Get rid of them! You can inject them with some kalk or a product called "Joe's Juice"

me again.... I'm looking at this huge pic, but I'm not seeing the aiptasia you guys are referring to. in what part of the picture are you seeing it?

I just ordered it on their web site, thanks. Now what is this stuff, how did get there and what does it do?

shnikeys!!! worlds largest aptasia!!! RUUNNN!!!!!

ya its an aptasia. I'm sure others have already commented on how to get rid of it.

Have fun injecting 5 gallons of vinegar into that one lol.

a species of anemone, and a frequent hitchhiker on LR. Left alone, or attacked casually it will take over the tank - quickly- burning out everything else in there by stinging it to death.
