Identify this Wrasse (and offer care pointers)

Nice looking fish. Maybe this will help:

I would think that their care is the same as other fairy wrasses. Also, a lid is probably required, because I believe it might be a jumper. HTH

since you are close to my area check out deepreefaquatics they have the best selection of fairy wrasses and rare stuff in our area

nclemmons, That's a great wrasse. Maybe you paid a little more at Sho Tank, but they are always fair and don't overcharge!
One of the best things about buying local is that you get to see the fish up close and can be sure that they look good, are healthy and are eating. Plus, there is no shipping cost.
Deep Reef is another place to get wrasses, but not very close to you. Coral Paradise in Arlington Heights and Sea Schor in Buffalo Grove are both close and are also worth visiting at some point.
I agree that wrasses have a habit of jumping, so make sure you have the tank covered. Carpet surfing is not healthy for wrasses!

Don't forget you would have to add ~$30-40 to the price if you ordered online. I used to be a big proponent of online fish buying. But lately, I have lost a couple of very expensive fish that came in sick. The survival rate with locally bought fish has been much much higher. It also seems that lately, my LFS has more of the "rare" fish that I could formerly ONLY get online.
