I have a maroon clown that is protecting what looks like eggs, and I am a bit puzzled how this could have happened. He is the only clawn resident in the tank, and I was under the assumption that 1 clown could not spawn on its own. Is this possible? Other tank residents include the following:
1 yellow tang
1 powder brown tang
1 blue hippo
1 angel
1 puffer
and 1 I'm not sure about. It kinda looks like a cow/puffer type fish.

Can anybody give me some thoughts on how this came to be. Is there a pssibilty of an interacial spawn taking place. Thanks for any thoughts on this one. JP

Well the eggs would not be fertile, if they are eggs. I believe she may eat them when she knows they're not going to hatch.
