i am pretty sure i know the answer but my power has been out since 645am on saturday and just came back on at 7pm sunday nite. all my rock is dead. my tank was just set up on tuesday so luckily all i had was some live rock, an anenome, 2 mushrooms, and some crabs and snails. the other question is...is my water still good or do i have to get all new water? any help would greatly be appreciated as i am new to this. THANKS!

When you are learning its tough to pass on things in the store even though you REALLY want in your tank. Please take this with the purpose it is meant which is to help you learn.
An anenome is an animal that requires an absolute stable system. They are very sensitive creatures and should never be introduced to a new system, preferably not until the 1 year mark. I can almost guarantee you it wont make it under the BEST of conditions, let alone during a power outage and a cycling tank.
Did you tell the store which you got it from your tank was new and you were new? If so please let us know which store sold it to you. This is a place I would not recommend.
Please post your test results for all paramaters so we can help you during this time

If your anenome didn't die and cloud up the tank I'd say your pretty much ok. If the rock was alive and din't sit out of the water it will be fine. All in all unless something big died off from the loss of power you should be fine. If any at all I'd do a small water change, But I dont see a complete water change needed.

As far as the NEW tank with an anenome in it, I don't know your situation, But my first tank I set up I had to take down about 2 months later due to it leaked, then I got it replaced 3 weeks later and set it back up and place a Green buble tipped Anenome & a Maroon clown fish in it within 3 weeks. I never had a issue with it for almost a year (until the power outage that lasted for 7 1/2 days which I lost evrything in). All of my LR was from Sarmack and about 2 cups of my sand was from IM LON 2 the rest was bagged sand. The HiRocks which is bace rock was in both the tank and the sump. Maybe I moved to fast but I had no problems.

I would get the temp back to where it needs to be and aerate that water...a lot of surface motion will help. I agree with not putting anything living in a new tank...ammonia poisoning isn't a kind thing to do to expensive fish. There are many ways to cycle a tank, I used black mollies in my first tank and it worked fine, they are hardy and cheap.
Definately do some water changes. and slow down. You have a long ways to go and if you rush it things will die. Get some established sand from someone close to you and it will help speed the cycle.
