well i just got back from a 3 day weekend in my hometown and i got some more LR off of my "cousin-in-law" and along with two fish....1 i think is a juvi BnW clown and the other is a juvi yellow tailed wrasse.....well when i got home the wrasse didnt look very good...so i checked my parameters and ammonia was 0 and ITES were minimal (in my display, at this point the fish were not in) so i decided to put the wrasse in to see how he did...i figured if he was gonna die in the bucket what harm is it gonna do in my display....well he dive bombed straight toward the and and dug in there for a while til finally a part of his head is poking out...i guess hes doing good?? ne one have one or have any idea what is normal for these guys? but i figured since i got one fish in might as well throw the other one in:( .....well he is doing fine so i guess everything will b ok til i do my ~50% water change tommorrow......ne thoughts on any of this so far lol...yes i know i jumped the gun... but i waited 3 weeks it was killing me.....lol...ne way someone suggested to get started on my cleaning crew since i have some hair alge growing plus the diatoms are crazy.....ne ideas of where to get my cleaning crew?? and what and how many i should get....again i have a BnW clown (i think) 1 yellow tailed wrasse and 53#'s of LR soon to be about 65#s....my tank is covered in diatoms and i got some hair alge on my rocks....thanks.....srry this was long

the cheapest place to get a cleaning crew is ebay. ive gotten hermit crabs and nassarius vibex snails from ebay multiple times VERY cheap with 100% survival rate. i would probably stay away from the nassarius obseleta snails that you see everywhere though. you probably couldnt go wrong with about 50 crabs and half as many snails. im not sure what kind of wrasse you have,
but if this is it: http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=365

then your not going to have much luck keeping a cleaning crew....or rather....your going to be restocking your cleaning crew often :D

i did discover that it is in fact a yellow-tailed wrasse or which ever of the names u prefer...sadly its gonna b immpossible to find him and or catch him.....hes borrowed into the sand and i havent seen him since other then a head poke for a few minutes....but when he gets a little bigger and becomes a hassle or even when i move which is inevitable since i live in military dorms (im dreading it every day trust me) but for now ill have to look on ebay and see if i can find something or if not ill check out dr.macs...thanks for the tip though

Becareful with adding extra rock to your display, it can cause you to have another cycle from the die off. Was the hair algae on the rock that you got, or is growing since you put it in?

well its not much but ill just add it slowly like a piece a day or every other day and just keep an eye on my parameters so my fish dont get affected to much.....thanks for the tip

Hey, I came online to post if anyone needed a clean up crew. The more you buy the cheaper it is. My brother is already going in it with me and possibly another friend down here in Lewes.
I am looking at getting <A HREF="http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com/Detail.aspx?ID=140&ReturnPage=%2fShowProductCategory.aspx%3fCategoryId%3d4%23I+1043">B1 at Dr. Mac's</A>. The size I get depends on if anyone else wants to get in on it. I can't wait a month till the trip, so I will be going tomorrow probably.
