Hi everybody,
I am fairly new to Reef Central and glad to be here! I have a question about the impeller assembly in my PanWorld 50PX external pump. It froze up a while back. After I took it apart I realized that calcium buildup was to blame. After a bath in white vinegar the parts are clean but I am not sure if the impeller assembly is still frozen.
My question is: Is the impeller supposed to freely rotate around the shaft or is the shaft supposed to be 'pressure fit' into the impeller so that the entire assembly rotates in the housing bushings?
If the entire assembly is supposed to rotate in the bushings it sure seems like a snug fit; it doesn’t freely spin. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!
