Important question about new bulb and BTA

Guys, what steps do you take when you put a new bulb? lets say from a 14K to a 20K...with same wattage (150W)...do you keep the same hour cycle right away?

My current bulb (14K) is pretty new, only 3 months old, I am moving to the Radium 20K, my fear is not too much on how the corals will react because I only have two small frags and I can always move them to the sand for a bit, my BIG concern is my green BTA, I have done all possible to make him happy and he has never moved from the same spot since I put him in the tank..he is looking great with his two O.clowns...

My current MH cycle is 1-9, some people say to cut the cycle in half and add a little each day for 2 weeks…..other say to put like 10 sheets of nylon screen on top and remove them one at the time for 10 days….here is my concern:

I am affraid that if I cut the light cycle in half or dim the lights (putting screens on top) he will move searching for lights....what do you think?...I wasnt thinking it would be a big deal since I am not moving to something brighter or with a higher wattage.....but you guys have been doing this a lot longer than me...You are the Anemone experts…..ALL advice is greatly appreciated.

(Please note that this is a closed hood system, I am unable to raise the hood)

i dont thikn i would worry too much about going they way you are...i would likely just cut the photo period down a couple hours...if you were going 20 to 14k's then i would certainly take the time to acclimate him better...

the 20k radiums do pack a punch though...

anymore inputs?.....I am sure somebody else must have a bta and has changed bulbs at one point.

The more advice the better.

Thanks
