In general, what can be kept in a 75g?

Lucid Mind

Alright, I'm rather new to reef keeping, with a little more than 5 months experience, so bare with me. A week ago, I upgraded to a 75 gallon, and so in the month or so I have to wait, I wanted to get a general idea of the fish I am going to get. I am interested in:

-bicolor blenny
- yellow tang
-blue hippo tang
-a school (3-5) of green chromis
- Mandarin Dragonet
- yellow wrasse

I'm aware of the yellow tangs unfriendly disposition towards other tangs, and I know that I'll probably not be able to get a mandarin for at least a year, but these are the fish I really have in mind.

I'm asking for other suggestions from your own experiences, or warnings about the fish listed above.

Replies are greatly appreciated:)

You are right about the Mandarin, very hard to keep in such a new system. You will need a lot of live rock for them or they will starve. The two tangs are border line for that size tank. You might want to pick one unless you are planning to upgrade the tank at some point down the road. Also if you decide to get the two tangs introduce the two together and they should get along fine. Other than that the list looks good. The only other fish I would suggest to you would be a dwarf angel like a Flame or coral beauty. Add the fish slowly to the tank so your water parameters stay constant.

Good Luck

I would not put either Tangs in a 75. Especially a Hippo that can get 1'-too big. A Kole Tang would be much better suited for a 75 and as stated above, a Dwarf Angel would be a good choice

thanks everyone. I forgot to mention, I can only maintain this tank for a little less than 4 years. I'll be dismantling it for college, and probably setting up a 12g nano cube in my dorm. Does anyone know the growth rate of the two tangs?
