In search of I.D.

I have had this 2 spot about a month now and what looked like a small scratch on its side later turned into what looked like a parasite of some type. Now the tissue around it is beginning to get pretty ugly. It looks like a cold sore.

I keep trying for a better pic but this is the best one so far. Can anyone ID this thing?

From the pic, it sorta looks like a pimple. You describing it getting worse indicates it might have started out as a cut (or something), which has now gotten infected. You could QT and treat with antibiotics. Or soak it's food with vitamin supplements and hope for the best (meaning, rely on the fish's natural immune system to fight this off).

I have a QT set up but I'm having trouble catching the tang... I started feeding a home made blend that he seems to love so it's getting a great variety of food now.it hasn't gotten any worse in the last few days so maybe things are turning around..

Still can't get a decent picture. I just sat and observed everyone in the tank for a good 45 min and everything was nice and peaceful. As soon as I picked up my phone he ran for cover... Maybe I'll take it out of the case, the circle around the apple does look like a giant eye.

That's good to hear. This morning every fish in the system was in the bottle except for the 2 spot. What the heck!!
