IN WALL tank backgrounds?

What do all of you use for your in-wall tank backgrounds? I am having a real problem with this. I tried making an acrylic background painted with the same paints weatherson used on his but when I put the background up to the tank, the color is coming out a really really dark blue/green color. I really want to be able to remove the background because its impossible to see where you are putting stuff without being able to see into the tank. If anyone has any ideas or advice, please help!

I used the black spray in foam from Dr. Fosters. it looks pretty good, even better now that its covered in coraline. but here's a picture right after I put it in.

you have access to your tank from the front though. I can only access my tank from the back so if I paint it or something, I won't be able to see into the tank to move stuff around.

What I did was paint the back wall black and you cant see anything untill the light is on in the room

What I did for my 125 was use those foam floor matts that fit together like puzzle pieces. It works well but you have to watch the water getting in between that and the glass. They are easy to remove and come in like 4 different colors so you could change the background color if you really wanted to.

Thats pretty interesting. Where did you get those at?

just get a sheet of black acrylic that fits the back of your tank and velcro it on. place the velcro across the bottom and behind pieces of rock so you cant see it from the front.

I got them at Sams club but I've seen them other places as well

On the adhesive/window tint theory, you might consider a "static" film which is easily removable/reusable? Surely you will need to clean the glass frequently if you intend to see through it.Static tint film could be left in place until you need to service your tank at which time it could easily be removed and then replaced/reused.
