Increasing ph level?

Just wondering, my PH doesnt seem to want to climb above about 7.6-7.8.

When I initially take it from the tap its approx 8.4 or so, just right, but it drops quick well circulating in a bucket ready for the change over a day or 2 period.

Can you use baking soda as you can in Freshwater? Is there a preffered method?

Just want to get my ph up before I start having issues.

Its a Fish/Coral 30G bowfront tank.....

Take a look in the Chemistry forum.

Is your house newer or older?

Are you running the A/C?

Are you dosing Kalk?

I had a problem with my PH dropping when I turned on the A/C and closed the windows. I have cured the problem by venting the skimmer with outside air and adding a kalk reactor to my ATO.

Is this your tank reading, or just the water?? Is the water mixed with salt??--salts will raise PH. What do you have in tank??--CC, LR, ect. What is your ALK??--This effects PH.

Finally--Yes and NO. Baking soda depends on all the above.
