I recently trimmed off the little stragglers toward the bottom of this A.desalwii colony. They were very bland in color, mostly likely because the upper branches were blocking all the light. Plus I'm hoping this will help direct the growing power of the coral toward the other branches. So now it has a 3-4 inch tall trunk. Is it possible to cut the top half off the coral with out killing it? It would be nice to have it not as close to the surface and closer to the rock work.
