initial live rock color-green

whenever i get a new piece of live rock and put it in the side facing the lights it always gets a green coloring all over first-i guess its a light algae covering-and then eventually coralline algae of usually lavender and red on top of that.my tank is a year and a half and is cycled and i dont have an algae problem but this always happens-norma?not normal?

green coraline is the first to appear and then the other colors usually take its place. does it feel like coraline or mushy like hair algae? if it is not mushy then you are fine.

The green coraline is perfectly normal. I actually like it. I have been known to move pieces so that they keep that color. I hacve a really nice lime color growing right now that I hope to find a way to make spread without being covered by the more popular colors.

my main colors are purple and green... looks nice...
