i went there once. the "outlet" part of their name is pretty funny.

actually, customer service depends on who you deal with. The owner (asian guy) is a jerk. He's probably the worst LFS owner I've come across. Just try to avoid him. It's worth checking out the fish, but just beware of the diseases that can be on some fish you buy.

Whenever I'm at the cash register, it's like I can see money signs in their eyes when they look at me.
Their corals usually suck, and they really only have softies, most of which are dull colors.
Their drygoods are terribly overpriced.

The only thing I've found there at a good price is their frozen foods, and when I say good price- that was a sale price.

I've purchased some live things from them before, but they were average priced, and that was when they were on a big sale.

Well, I have no idea what happened to that place, when I first started in the hobby like two years ago it was a great place.

like about a year ago I scored on a 2" inch tasseled filefish for like $15, I was so stoked.

Recently though, I have been their and it has been horrible service that asian guy, i think he is the new owner, is not worried about clientel, but more worried about making a quick dollar.

My friends and I all bought a membership, so it only cost me like 2 bucks, so everytime we go together and try to find the best deals, but still pretty crappy place now.

2-3 years ago Dave (vividaquariums dot com) was running it and yes, selection and prices were unbelievable. I paid $16.50 for fathead anthias!! Lek ( who you all refer to Asian Guy)is the owner and has always been the owner and people skills he lacks. Many a time in the past I walked out of there thinking he suffers from depression of some kind and have said a prayer for him. I don't go there any more, at least for a year I haven't.

Have you ever gone to Vivid Aquariums in Conoga, its a sweet selection of livestock and they have a neat display for the corals, its like a lagoon thingy.

I thank all for your input. Exact address for Jim's and Vivid in Canoga would be helpful. Thanks again. I have no intention of bothering with Outlet. There are too many LFS like that.

Dave's place, Vivid Aquariums, isnt that big, but I think you will enjoy their hella nice coral selection and livestock selection.
