Insurance?

I'm literally in the middle of a move and have discovered that my insurance company, despite what I was told two weeks ago, does not cover any damage that might occur due to the fish tank. Which in turn means that the place I'm moving to will not let me keep the tank. Argh!

So, does anyone know of a renter's insurance company that covers damage that might occur if the tank springs a leak?

Thanks in advance,
Joleen

have you asked them about a rider? extra coverage to pay for it? who is your insurance company? i believe the big ones cover it allstate, statefarm, ect.

I use State Farm. From what my agent has told me, that any damage caused by the tank caused flood is covered just as if it were my water heater. and get this, if a "named" event happens that causes total loss of tank and inhabitants, it will all be paid for. These items are burglurary, fire, tornado, etc. also, if my son breaks the tank, the flood damage it causes will be covered. If I remember correctly, their renters worked the same way.
