Interceptor collateral damage

So I have a red bug infestation and got some Interceptor from a vet to treat the tank. I know it will kill pods, crabs and shrimp, but will it affect brittle stars. I have a huge one in there, and countless little ones and would hate to kill them.

It will not kill brittle stars, it didnt even wipe out my pod population completely nor did it touch my Blue linkia. I was sure to weigh out the proper dosage for my tank though, on a very accurate balance at work.

One large pill will treat 400g.

To be more accurate, one large pill will treat 380 gallons. However, every 6 months, purely for precautionary reasons, I treat my 200DD, with 1 large pill. I remove as many shrimp as I can catch and move them to our Nano, for a week. My snails do not die, but all shrimp and crabs do. The only crabs I keep are Emerald Crabs. I do see a significant reduction on my POD population, each time, but it rebounds quickly.

I did my 1st treatment last weekend, everything came out fine, except the hermit crabs and pods. Wiped the crabs and pods out. Fish, corals, snails, shrimp, and stars came out fine. Doing the 2nd treatment today. After one treatment, no redbugs to be found!

I've done treatments 4-5X greater than the recommended volume and let it run with no skimmer, carbon, or water changes for about 30 hours with no ill effects other than loss of the arthropods.

i have read it can kill snails and crabs along with shrimp but i have used it around 25 times in mine and other customer tanks with no losses what so ever .its benifits certainly out weigh its bad points which i have not seen but i have heard that some have had losses of snails crabs and shrimp . i have also double dosed with no ill effects at all on my own tanks which is approximately 400 gallons and i used 2 tabs . in the beginning the flavored tabs were not supposed to be used but thats all that you can get now and i have used them at least 10 times with no ill effects either .

I have found that pods and a few mini brittles take a hit. But all other critters including shrimp, snails, larger stars, nems, clams, fish & corals are fine. Pods & mini brittles bounce back.
