Well I went to my Vet and found out that they are not making this at the moment. I wanted to know if some other product contains the same active ingredient?

Thanks for your help

the sticky talks about online ordering and alternative treatment. Interesting read. I read it over last night.

i think sentinel can be used to do a search it has a couple dif ingredients though but im pretty sure its safe

check out the thread " another option for red bugs". People are having success with the bayer insect killer. Im giving it a shot.

Hey I purchased some interceptor from Australia and it has some other med in it. I didn't notice it when I ordered it. Does anyone know what it is and is it safe to use? Praziquantel?

Milbemycin is the active ingredient in both Interceptor and Sentinel. Sentinel is Interceptor with a second medication called lufeneron (which is an insect growth regulator) added to it. The lufeneron is a flea birth control for all practical purposes. The products are made in the same plant by Pfizer, and will be unavaible for the forseable furture. There was issues with several human OTC products packaging that were made in that plant and it is closed. That is the only plant Pfizer makes those drugs at so until it is back it will be very hard to get as backstock for those drugs has been used up.

Praziquantel is a deworming medication used in both animals and people. It mainly targets intestinal worms like tape worm, round worm etc.

Praziquantel is safe to use in a reef tank. It's the same thing contained in Prazipro. But i have no idea about the other medecin, sorry.
