Introducing Live Rock to New Tank: All at once or in batches?

Wondering if spiking and die off would be less if introducing live rock into the tank in smaller batches.

Or, if it doesn't really matter, just put it all in the tank and let cycle.

Most of the rock (not sure actual lbs) is coming from an already established tank and being put into a 55g tank w/ new sand bottom and newly mixed salt water. Will get some established sand to also help seed the existing sand too.

Can I get some opinions on this? Based on real-live past experience? :)

Thanks in advance!!

all at once makes it goe faster... i did the little batches to my 55gal and it took longer then i did my 70 all at once and it went alot better and faster. cycle was only about a week and a half..

All-At-Once

All-At-Once

Yea, I would put it in all at once. If you add a little bit at a time you will kick off another mini cycle.

LR - in batche or at once

LR - in batche or at once

I am the one who had the question. Thanks to Matt for posting it.
I put all the LR yesterday....@ 60 pounds in 55 gallon tank. Checked the parameters today. Salinity is 1.022-1.023, Ph is 8.4, no trace of ammonia or nitrite or nitrate.
The LR had some organisms on it..I am 2 new to identify but they are looking very good.

Give it a week or so and that ammonia will start going up. A 55g tank isn't really a "nano" so to speak, but it's close. Welcome to the salty side! :D

If it's coming from an established tank there should be little or no cycle. Put it all in at once.............
