Introducing pistol shrimp

I currently have a 2 1/2" yellow watchman goby. I am thinking of introducing a pistol shrimp. Most pistols in the market now are about 1". Would that be too small? What are the chances of a pistol shrimp pair up with a goby in aquarium?

I think that the size of the shirmp doesn't matter too much but only a few species will form a symbiotic relationship w/ the goby. Alpheus randallii is one which will associate w/ a yellow watchman goby.

The other would be Tiger pistol. I think as long as they can find each other theyââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll pair up. I have a YWG and a Tiger. They found each other in about 30 seconds. I had the YWG goby in the tank for about a week before I added the pistol. Make sure you rock work is secure. Pistol will digââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦ All of my rock work is on top 2-2.5ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ PVC standoffs.
