Hello everyone my name is Justin and I have been browsing the community for a while now and I've learned quite a few things from everyone. In the next month or so I'm going to be looking into getting a much larger tank than what I have now. I'm thinking at least a 72gal but would like larger if the "budget" permits. Now the question is.. I was wondering where may have the best price on tanks etc. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Welcome Justin

I haven't shopped for a tank for quite a while, but when I was looking, Gary's warehouse in Greensburg, price couldn't be touched.
I haven't heard much talk about Gary's lately, so check with some of the other guys, to make sure I'm not sending you on a goose chase.

good luck
Bill

Generally Elmer's sets the bar on tanks. That's the price you want to shop against. If you know what you are looking for, and don't mind going to pick up a tank, finding a used one is usually a good deal. I'm looking for a 120-180 gallon tank right now. Lots of them out there, you just have to be patient and flexible.

Good luck.

Bill - never heard of that place. Hmmm... road trip! :)

Elmer's will match the prices at Pet Warehouse in greensburg. The downside to the Pet Warehouse is they will not drill a tank.

Wet Pet's in Peters had a sale on tanks not long ago were the 180's were $499, $549 Reef Ready, not sure if that is still going on.

is Pet warehouse worth the trip as far as window shopping goes?

They have really cheap tanks and good prices on filters and stuff like that, but they don't have any livestock or much of anything saltwater related at least when I was there 1.5 years ago.

Yeah but they have dirt cheap tanks! Elmers says they will match... but would not after they saw the price from my 75... though that was several years ago.

I had them match a 75, 55 and 40 breeder all within the last year so I think they will do it now.

"Gary's Pet supply warehouse" or something close to that . It's on the bypass between rt. 219 & the Mall on rt. 30 The building is beside the Sears warehouse/catalog store.
Gary always had good prices,I always got my Instant Ocean there much cheaper than anywhere else, but you never know what he has in stock, & it's a cash only business.
When I was looking for tanks, his prices were lowest, & he had someone building stands that were really well done.

I haven't been over that way in well over a year, so do some checking before you head out.

good luck

i got a used 90 gallon that neds a good home
not in mint condition but holds water perfectly
has a cracked center brace that i fixed and a small chip on the side corner of 1 of the panes of glass
but does NOT affect the structural integrity of the tank
the black painted rear panel needs repainted (didnt use the right type)
if interseted pm me

i bought my 110 gallon for a fw set up the tank stand hoods lights and gravel was under 400 bucks that was over a year ago and if you need the number i can give it to you i got all this from Gary's Pet supply warehouse in greensburg

If you visit Pet Supply Warehouse make sure you take cash with you. I remember them being a cash only business.

Seahorse beat Elmers last year

Seahorse beat Elmers last year

A friend of mine had originally planned to get a Tank from Elmers last year..but The Seahorse ended up beating the Elmers price by quite a bit..and the delivery charges were cheaper also. It was for a 200 gal. I was very surprised.
