how many shrimps, snails, and hermits can i have in a 6 gallon tank....but i also have a 17 gallon sump attached
my wish list is as so:
1:skunk cleaner
1: fire shrink
1: scarlet hermit crab
and a snail or two... dont really care what kinds
is this possible in this small of tank? i really need them to clean up after the mess my sun coral will make after feeding

The shrimp and the hermits will most likely make feeding your suncoral frustrating. They will crowd around and steal the food right out of the polyps.

I have a suncoral and the best cleanup crew atleast for me is nassarius snails ( these will steal food from the polyps if enough isnt spilled ), and bristleworms. There are others which help as well like mysis and amphipods.

oh well i was planning on using something like a 2 liter to keep everyone away from the sun coral while its eating.... i guess just one cleaner, and a couple of hermits and snails should be fine to clean up after the sun coral. but the disred effect was for the clean up crew to eat almost everything the sun coral did not because of the small tank size all that uneaten mysis would easily cause a amonia spoke porbbably

I think you're going to have trouble maintaining good water quality with a small tank with the amount of feeding a suncoral will require. Siphoning out uneaten food would be a better solution and almost daily water changes.

well yeah i knew that sort of so i acctually have a larger sump then my main tank ;), but i thought with 2 shrimps and a few crabs/snails wouldent leave any left overs as long as that sun coral feeding was designed to let the coral eat by it self till it had its fill and also feed both the crabs and the snails for that day

No matter how many critters you have in there to clean up they're still gonna poop out as much as they eat, suncoral included. I have over 300 gallons total volume, a rather large skimmer, a huge cleanup crew, a 35 gal refugium full of macro, and I still have diatom blooms after I feed the suncoral. I also change out 40 gals of water every week.

Oh... i thought the only problem would be having the shrimp fight in such a small area.... i wasent really woried about the water quality too much because i have seen lots of people with suncorals in 3 gallon pico's and less with some snails a crab and shrimp that only have a HOB 3 stage... so i guessed i would be on with 2 shrimps in a +6 with 17gal fuge would be ok?
