Inverts jumping ship

OK, I realize this may be an odd question, but lately my snails and some of my hermit crabs have been 'jumping ship' so to speak. I've seen them crawling around without their shells. Not dead, just crawling without.

It's not all my snails/hermits, but only some.

Does anyone else have this happen? (Or know what causes it?)

Do you have bigger shells of the type they like (like most like cerith) for them to move into? sounds like they outgrew em?

The snails do you only see them at night or are they out and about during the day?

Those are both good questions. I have to get some bigger shells, although there should be a few in there.

Also, I've noticed they come out more when my LED's are on. They just crawl around on the glass. I noticed the hermit didn't make it through the morning

Snails cannot leave their shells.
Maybe they are stomatella?
