Invest in a Heater or Allow Temp Swing Recommendation

Hi Guys...

I need some expert recommendation based on your experience and will like to know which route you guys will go.

My tank is a 125 with 30 gal. sump. I have been using a 1/4 Artica Chiller to maintain my tank between 78 and 80 degrees which have been great. The chiller was needing around 2 1/2 hours to cool down the tank while the house temp is was 95 degrees over here in PR. (Yes very hot).

So i decided to invest in a Inverter Air Conditioner to my house to see if i can avoid electrical costs due to the Chiller running so much. To my surprise now the Chiller even turn on so the Inverter is doing his job but the family remains hot.

Now here is where my situation arises and is that now the tank that is located between the Inverter and the family the temp is 76 degrees so i think is too low but my family that is more further from the Inverter location still have a 80 degree. The inverter is set to 70 degrees because if i go lower then than that in the night the tank lowers to 75 degrees.

So finally should i get a Heater to held the tank in 78 degrees or just allow the temp in the tank to remain 76 degrees???

I appreciate your recommendations and thanks in advance..

your tank will be fine even at 75 degrees, I wouldn't worry about those temps at all. In the winter here I let my tank go as low as 72 degrees and have done this for many years with no issues. Hope this helps!

This is great news for me because that way i don't have another point of failure... Will give it a slowly try.

Thanks...
