Somebody please explain everything about this to me.... Its the first I've heard of it. how do we use it?

somebody give me the info....:smokin:

Be careful when looking to dose iodine. It is easy to overdose. Most salts will have enough for the average aquarium including mantis tanks IMO. My 12 gallon eclipse has been fine for my 2.5 inch mantis for a few months without iodine supplementation. He has molted at least once. Additionaly, my 40 gallon supports 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 saron shrimp, and several hermit crabs and they molt just fine - all without iodine supplementation.

It can benefit invertebrate molting, and can be beneficial to the growth of some soft corals...

I use Lugol's solution...

As always, you should be testing things you're supplementing... particularly important with iodine. As Neo said, it's easy to overdo it... the Lugol's bottle recommends 1 drop per 25 gallons once a week... that aint much... shows you how comparatively potent it is...
