Hey Reef Central!
A little about myself I'm a 22 year old attending college at Iowa and a business owner. Got bite by the saltwater bug not much over a year ago and jumped in head first. Took quite a few knocks on the way down and learned a lot of lessons! I sure wish I would have utilized this site from the beginning. But now I'm cleaning everything up and focusing on one setup! Im placing my fowler tank at my store which is pretty much running itself. I do maintenance on it about every three weeks and there the employees can clean glass and feed the fish as needed so I get a little help with that one. But this thread is me cleaning house and starting fresh!
Here is a rundown in the tank upgrade! This will be an sps dominant tank and my first full build thread. I am upgrading my current 250DD marineland tank that has been established about a year so my livestock and equipment will be coming from there! The new tank will take about 4 weeks so let's get this upgrade under way and started! I hope you all enjoy I will post photos soon!!

Tank: 315 gallon/ peninsula style acrylic tank (72x36x30) by Advance Acrylics
Lighting: T5 (10 bulb retrofit w/ATI bulbs) Led supplement (3 AI hydra 52s)
Skimmer: reef octopus 5000sss
Flow: main pumps (bubble blaster 7000 & 5000)
Power heads ( 2/mp40, 2/RW-14, 2/RW-8)
Dosing: bubble magus (3head)
Reactors: reef octopus (GFO&Carbon)
Controller: Apex
Heater: 1000 watt blue line

Coral and inverts: sps dominant tank with a few lps and a calm that's about 10 years old!

Fish: 1 Tricolor tang
1 Achilles tang
2 whitetail Bristletooth tangs
1 magnificent foxface
1 juvenile scribble angelfish
These are my current fish I would like to add a black tang into my next setup and will probably add a few wrasses in as well. In my other setup I have a pair of cross hatch triggers debating whether or not they will make the cut or just stay in the fowler. Pictures of my aquatic critters coming at you as soon as I figure out how to post pictures!!!

In all honesty I do try to do a lot of research on keeping sps but I'm really not all that great with different corals as I'm still really new and learning. I got in about 20 coloniesof sps not long ago and they have been doing great it's the first time I have had good luck with sps. It's also the first time I have given my tank proper care. I have preform weekly water changes of 50 gallons and dose reef builder calcium and magnesium daily. My main passion is still fish especially tangs. My favorite is my Achilles which I based my current and will base my new tank around. As he grows so will my tanks.

Sounds like you have a plan, just don't get anxious and go too fast. The name of the game is patience...I know most of us don't have any but we learn from it. I wish you luck on getting everything going well.
