Iron Man Mushroom

What makes an orange mushroom an Iron Man? I was just in a reef store and they had nearly identical shrooms, one labeled Iron Man, one not.

From what I've seen, generally, Ironmans are orangey-red and kind of "pop" but also had a kind of "metallic" look to them.

+1 I believe it's the gold with red rim that makes it a iron man shroom

Heres my ironman shroom. Its more of a copper color than orange. Also, I find a lot of orange rics and rhodactis but not too many discosoma. Beautiful shroom that really stands out.

I was wowed when I got mine but soon became bored with its color. Its a bit too fall looking. I prefer stuff that explodes with color under LED.

With my iron man shrooms, they seam heavy on the fluorescent proteins. In my PC lit nanocube, they just look like orange mushrooms. In my frag tank they are a brilliant metallic gold color with a red ring.

just got a small one at LFS, agree with the reddish orange metallic shimmer description. Its not like my neon orange or green ones, this one seems to have one of those color changing paint jobs you used to see on cars, but red/orange instead of purple green.

Just looked then up online since I'd never heard of them, the one in my avatar is absolutely an "iron man" mushroom. They're just generic gold (not orange, these are gold) mushrooms, they just look a lot better under higher blue light. Every picture in this thread is of an "iron man" mushroom... These things go for $10 or less all day long out here, if you see a mushroom at your LFS that is gold colored then chances are you're looking at one of these.

Just google iron man, and look at the colors of the comic book character. Those are the colors in the shroom. Just sounds better than sayin red ang yellow/gold shroom.

AN iron man mushroom has a pink skirt with a bronze/yellow color. Sometimes it has some green in it with pink throughout the body. Its also smooth in texture. Not bumpy like a jawbreaker or candy crush mushroom. I believe that is the discrepancy. Both very different in price and appearance.
