I know most people use plywood, but I'm avoiding using any wood on my T-slot stand. 48 x 29 inches, one center brace in middle. I was going to use HDPE, but I'd have to order it and it would take two pieces which I'd rather avoid. I've got an acrylics place that could cut one 48 x 29 piece for the top, but then I started wondering if the plexiglass would hold up with the weight. I don't want it to crack and possibly have to take down the tank. 12mm would be the thickness before HDPE would be cheaper I think. So, is plexiglass acceptable?
