There are two common bannerfish in this hobby. One is henochious diphreutes and the other is heniochus acuminatus. The first is supposed to school and also be reef safe. The other is more solitary and will eat feather dusters and possably coral. It is very hard to tell them apart.
I just put a pair of henochious diphreutes in my QT. I would consider them "Reef Safe With Caution". I've seen mine nip at the feather duster shown in the photo below.
heniochus acuminatus is not reef safe and will most likely pick at numerous inverts/corals.
