Is Green Good?

I followed some of the advice about getting the cycle started in my 210 gallon by adding some fish food and today (after about a week or so or adding food) I noticed some green spots on the LR and on the live sand....is this a good thing in terms of getting a good bacteria colony started or is this nothing really too major to worry myself about??

.....Please say its a good thingggg haha I have never been so excited to see green stuff on the inside of my tank

Ya for sure, Ive read enough to know to use RO/DI so i bought a good 5 stage unit that gives me 75 GPD....i really dont kno what could be causing it

even after the cycling, most of my rocks are slightly green. I have no idea how to get rid of them.
I am using RO/DI water.

Congratulations.

I think what cdbias2 was implying was that: yes, it's part of the cycle. But later you'll probably be cursing it because it's probably hair algae. Some coraline algae is green, in general your live rock will get a greenish color before anything else starts growing. Green stuff on the sand is probably hair algae.

Do you have a sump? If not, now is the time to add one. Also, might want to start running some kind of GFO reactor and start nipping phosphates in the bud before it becomes a problem. Do you have any test kits? What are your readings?
